What Is Flutter?

Flutter is an elegant, educational fundraiser celebrating the work of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center. On September 6, we’ll gather among the gardens at the Nature Center to enjoy a seated dinner, silent auction, wildlife experiences, and more. We’re excited to bring this event to our community for a second year, and invite you to reserve your seat below!

Ticket Prices

$200 for one seat

$350 for two seats

$1,500 for one table (up to ten seats)

We also have a limited number of $50 tickets available for educators and nonprofit workers.

The Impact of Flutter

Southeast Michigan is a vibrant place to live and grow, yet many of our region’s children are not provided equitable access to learning experiences outside the classroom.

Our Access for All initiatives bridge the gap between underserved communities and lifelong learning. Scholarships ignite students’ curiosity through field trips and outreach programs, and reduced-cost admission makes memories at the Museum for families receiving food assistance benefits.

As a provider of STEAM and nature-based education, we want everyone to be able to explore the sciences—and this is only possible with you. By purchasing tickets to Flutter, you are creating transformative moments of discovery for our entire community.

Flutter 2024 Program

5 p.m.
Check-in begins.

5–7 p.m.
Enjoy strolling refreshments, browse our silent auction, and meet live wildlife ambassadors.

7 p.m.
Dinner begins! Find your table under the tent and enjoy a hearty harvest of locally sourced drinks from Bløm, Homes Brewery, and Spencer along with dinner from El Harissa and dessert from Sweet Heather Anne.

7:30–8 p.m.
While you dine, learn about our work through presentations by our staff.

8:15 p.m.
Dessert is served. Mingle with guests, staff, and wildlife.

8:30–9 p.m.
Silent auction ends. Don’t forget to pick up any items you’ve won before you leave!

Flutter FAQ

  • The dress code is "garden party" and “picnic chic”—wear clothes that make you feel both stylish and comfortable outdoors!

  • Flutter is an adults-only event. Please keep an eye on our calendar to learn more about the many family-friendly events we offer!

  • We will have gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian food options available.

  • Yes; we will reserve the parking lot for individuals with accessibility needs.

  • Flutter will take place, rain or shine. The tent will provide shelter in the event of rain.
