Access for All

Everyone deserves moments of discovery.

Access for All at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center reduces barriers to STEM education for families and classrooms across Southeast Michigan and beyond.

Access for All Initiatives

  • EBT Discount Program

We provide $3 Museum admission to families receiving food-assistance benefits via an EBT card. The check-in process is quick and easy, and up to six people can visit per card each day.

Learn more about receiving discounted admission for your family here.

  • Scholarships for Schools

We offer scholarships to schools where at least 20% of students qualify for free or reduced-cost lunch. About one in every four classrooms that books a program with us receives a scholarship.

When you request a program with us, you will be invited to apply for a scholarship.

  • ASD Programming

Free sensory kits are available to neurodivergent visitors at the Museum. Our ongoing My Turn series is free to the public and offers quiet hours at the Museum for families affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or sensory processing disorder (SPD).

  • Physical Accessibility

Both our sites are verified destinations through Wheel the World, an accessible travel guide.

The Nature Center features wheelchair-accessible pathways, buildings, and our Nature Playscape. All four floors of the Museum are accessible via elevator.

“[The EBT discount] allows families like mine to have the opportunity to enjoy and share the museum with our children.”

— Rachel, a Michigan mom
