Animal Habitats @ Leslie Science & Nature Center

What does it take for a habitat to be suitable for living things? Investigate Michigan’s native habitats by hiking in the woods, searching for evidence of the wild animals that our woodlands home. Then, try your hand at making a habitat for a live animal during this workshop.

  • Level: Girl Scout Junior/Cadette

  • Duration: 2 hours. Majority of these programs can occur during the day, with a select few available in evenings only. Programs occur rain or shine. 

  • Cost: $120 starting fee for 12 scouts or less, with additional $10 per scout if more than 12 scouts attend.  

  • Group Size: Up to 18 scouts. For more than 18 scouts, an additional $100 cost is applied. 

  • Location & Parking: Leslie Science and Nature Center grounds. Programs may utilize buildings on site, as well as Black Pond Woods nature trails. Parking is limited, carpool if possible. 

  • Cancellations and Payment : Final payments must be made the day of the program, unless otherwise arranged by Leslie Science & Nature Center. Non-weather related cancellations must occur 48 hours in advance, or a $50 processing fee will be charged. A refund may be given if a cancellation occurs more than 48 hours in advance.
