This gallery is designed especially for preschool-aged children and their caregivers. Our youngest visitors can splash in our water tables, dress up like fire fighters and play on the child-sized fire engine.

Experiment with simple machines, learn how traffic lights and the internet work. Enclose yourself in a giant soap bubble!

The STEAM PARK gallery was designed to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and artists. In STEAM PARK you’ll find interactive mechanical exhibits with names that could come right out of a Jules Verne story, including Window Maze, Airfoil, Propeller Chair and a first-in-the-world digital Roulette Curve. There is even a floor-to-ceiling, multi-interactive 17th-century clock for those who see mere cogs in the machine as priceless learning opportunities.

Sometimes it takes a little darkness to really explore the properties of light! Experience the characteristics of light and optics by playing the stringless Laser Harp or catching your outline on the Shadow Wall. Examine the full rainbow of colors made visible by diffraction, and aim a laser to bounce it off mirrors and see the beam bent inside a lens.

Take a trip back in time and experience what a 1930s store was really like. Don a apron and be the shopkeeper, ready to measure out 4 yards of fabric, and half a pound of onions. Or play the role of a shopper, picking up some Ivory Soap and a cure for head lice!

Explore the science of your body! Try to identify an object solely by touch. Examine the bones in your hand and see how they would look if you were a baby or a senior. Drive a real ambulance, or climb in the back to see how medical transport works! This gallery is All About You!

H2Oh! is a series of interactive and interconnected water exhibits that will excite visitors of all ages as they crank, spin, pump, push, and pour water; float, roll, throw, lift, and balance plastic balls on columns of water; and learn complex concepts about fluid motion.

In the Keep Smiling gallery you’ll find plenty to chew on, including a giant tooth brush that you can use to brush oversized teeth, animated x-rays that show you how your mouth changes as you grow up, and super-crushing set of jaws that let you feel the bite strength of different animals!
