Raptor Enclosures

August 2026 Update: Our facilities team has been hard at work rehabilitating our raptor enclosures. Over the next few weeks, you'll see major improvements taking shape as aging siding, the roof, and sagging support joists are replaced. The enclosure walls are also being rebuilt to strengthen the infrastructure and provide safer, more durable, and enriched habitats for our wildlife colleagues.

Our raptors are housed outdoors, and you can walk right up to their enclosures seven days a week during daylight hours. Discover the origin of their name "raptor" which means "to seize or grasp" with their powerful feet and talons. Observe their feathers, beaks and so much more.

The DTE Energy Nature House

The DTE Energy Nature House showcases energy systems, building techniques, and recycled materials that enable us to live lightly on the earth.
The building is home to many of our camps and much of our educational programming. It is also available for rental and special events. Due to its frequent use for events, its interior is generally not open to the public, although visitors are welcome to explore outside along with the rest of the grounds.
