Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center, in partnership with Trinity Health Michigan, are working to reopen the Health Exploration Station at Trinity Health Medical Center – Canton.
This beloved community resource, which served Southeast Michigan for more than two decades, closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its reopening follows a significant investment from this partnership to modernize exhibits and ensure that health topics are current, engaging, and impactful for today’s youth.

The Health Exploration Station is a 3,500 square foot facility, located inside Trinity Health Medical Center-Canton, dedicated to health and wellness programming.
Interactive, larger-than-life exhibits focused on nutrition, physical activity, mental health, anatomy, substance use prevention, and smoking/vaping prevention engage students, and programming provides context and curriculum reinforcing hands-on learning.
WELLNESS PROGRAMMING
Our health and wellness programming is focused on the Whole Child, knowing that a healthy child is best served by healthy families and communities. Our future visioning for the space includes not just school programming, but family and adult program opportunities.
We are beginning with two lenses for programing, one focused on body systems and the other creating healthy habits for school groups.
All programs are age-appropriate, and we are beginning with a focus on pre-K through 6th grades.
We are piloting programs in winter 2025-26, with the goal to open to the public with ongoing programs in spring 2026.
