Reports To: Marketing Specialist and will work closely with the Summer Camp staff for content guidance and camp-specific activities.

Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $16.48/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual for a 12-week Summer Marketing Internship.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and social media management, while contributing to the promotion of our Summer Camp sessions at the Museum and Nature Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend Summer Camp sessions at the Museum and Nature Center to capture high-quality video, photos, and social media content.

  • Create engaging social media posts, including editing photos and videos, and adding relevant captions and hashtags.

  • Capture impactful stories and memorable quotes from kids, volunteers, and staff that highlight the impact of our programs and support our mission of creating moments of discovery that inspire curiosity, exploration and respect for STEM and the natural world.

  • Upload content to the organization’s OneDrive cloud for easy access and sharing.

  • Work closely with the Marketing Specialist for guidance and oversight on content creation and strategy.

  • Collaborate with the Summer Camp staff for additional instructions related to content, camp sessions and media release specifics.

  • Assist with scheduling and managing social media content in alignment with the Summer Camp timeline.

  • Provide creative input on new social media campaigns and marketing ideas to engage the community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

  • Able to receive a clean criminal background check, central registry clearance, and three positive references (from non-relatives) prior to being hired. 

  • Strong interest in marketing, social media, and content creation.

  • Experience with video and photo editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Canva, etc.).

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, or related field is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability and willingness to work in an environment which includes exposure to environmental allergens including, but not limited to, dust, mold, pollen, live birds, insects, and other animals, and unvaccinated individuals. 

  • Must be able to attend camp sessions in person and travel to the Nature Center and Museum location.
