2 IN 1 HANDS-ON LEARNING: CLASSROOM + RIVER VISIT
Grades 5–8 step into the role of watershed scientists, getting their hands wet as they explore local rivers and wetlands using real scientific tools.
About the Program

Classroom Outreach (1 hour)
- Build your own town and watch water flow
- Meet a Michigan wetland animal
- Practice Macro Invertebrate ID skills

Offsite River Visit (1.5 hours)
- Explore your school’s local watershed
- Determine the river’s health with our experts by doing:
Chemical testing + Macro Invertebrate dipping + Observation Hike

Standard Cost: $700 ($200 classroom + $500 river visit)
Introductory Rate: $350 thanks to DTE Foundation Grant
