Exhibit Now open!
Public opening October 3, 2026
Build your own vehicle, put it to the test, and take on exciting engineering challenges involving speed, gravity, momentum, and more.
What Will
You Build?
Build it. Test it. Change it. Try again.
In On Track: Engineering in Motion, you become the engineer. Build your own vehicle, put your design to the test, and take on a series of hands-on engineering challenges.

What to Expect
Build Your Vehicle
Imagine and assemble your own vehicle, then get it ready for testing. Change your design and see what happens.
Take on the Loop
Send your vehicle down the ramp and see if you can make it all the way upside down through the loop.
Race for Speed
Race a friend or clock your fastest time. Experiment with your design and see if you can make your vehicle faster.
Make the Jump
Send your vehicle flying through a hoop and experiment with where to place the weight for the best result.
Engineering is
trying again.
Build something. Test it. Notice what happens. Change your design. Try again. On Track puts the engineering design process into motion through challenges where there isn't just one right answer.
Made Possible
Through Support.
At the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, we’ve created On Track: Engineering in Motion, a new exhibit that introduces the principles of engineering to learners of all ages. Guests build magnetic vehicles, test them on ramps and loops, and refine their designs as they explore the cycle of design, test, and iterate.
Help bring On Track to more visitors.
