Bill Aleks was a natural engineer who loved to design and create.
While he got his first model train as a child, it wasn’t until his later years that he began building his exhibit, a reward for a lifetime of hard work. His infectious enthusiasm for trains inspired him to share his growing display with family, friends, and especially children.
Every winter, the Museum welcomes tens of thousands of visitors for two weeks of guest performances and special activities at Hands-On Holidays.
During this period, we place Bill’s model trains on display for everyone to enjoy, staffing the space with volunteers to interpret the exhibit to guests.
